FRESH AIR

YOU & YOUR MIND.

Differences.
Similarities.
We can list a few.
But no matter who you are
You should have someone to talk to.
Experiences.
Situations.
It can all take its toll.
You shouldn’t be afraid to speak up.
No matter how old.
You are valuable.
You are worthy.
You are enough just as yourself.
We all have moments and struggles.
That can affect our mental health.
It’s nothing to be ashamed of.
It should be talked about more.
Less judgement of others.
Who knows what anyone
is going through.
A little kindness along the way.
Could do much more than you
I would ever think it will.
Just think about that person
in need? Wouldn’t you want to
help if that were you?

CAN YOU SAY YOU TRY?

Have you seen her?
She’s looking a bit big?
Oh, no what’s she done
she’s got way too thin.
As your life is based on
what’s been airbrushed
in a magazine.
Does she even work?
What is she wearing?
Instead, what if you asked
how’s your mental
health doing?
Now, that would be caring.
Did you see who she’s with?
She could do better?
If you took a breath &
looked a bit harder.
You would know she’s
never been happier.
Making assumptions.
Jumping to conclusions.
Judging someone on their size.
Speaks volumes above anything else
in my eyes.
Let’s go back to accepting, including
& letting people live life without questioning why.
If you look at all you say & do.
Can you say you try?

Hi, I'm Catherine. I love to write, mostly my own poems. Something that grew from a young age into a passion that I now proudly get to share with the world.
