Welcome to coming attractions! This series is where I’ll be analyzing a trailer for a TV show and let you know why I’m excited or nervous about the show! This will also allow you to get excited about the show and give you a chance to read up on the show or catch up on seasons you missed! TV shows are starting to get more and more trailers so thankfully getting sneak previews is becoming increasingly common for TV shows!
Our latest trailer is Succession season four!
What is Succession about?
Succession is about the Roy family’s media empire and how they navigate an ever-changing landscape when it comes to their family business. Run by patriarch Logan (Brian Cox), his children Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Connor (Alan Ruck), Shiv (Sarah Snook), and Roman (Kieran Culkin) struggle to find their place within the company as Logan dangles stepping down and giving control to them. All the children scheme for leverage with their cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun) and Shiv’s husband Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) jockeying for control too.
Where and when can I watch Succession?
The first three seasons of Succession are streaming on HBO Max and season four premiers on March 26th, 2023.
Where is the story currently (Spoilers ahead)?
Dear lord, that season three finale has the ultimate betrayal as Tom and Greg use their only play and warn Logan of the coming alliance between Kendall, Shiv, and Roman. Kendall finally lets his siblings know about what happened at Shiv and Tom’s wedding. All of a sudden, a weight is lifted from Kendall’s shoulders and he finally feels connected with his siblings after going to war against them for most of season three. Logan renegotiates his divorce settlement to effectively cut his kids out of any control of Waystar.
What’d we see in the trailer?
We largely see the fallout from what happened at the end of season three. Tom is frantically laying the groundwork should something happen between him and Shiv. Logan is his usual icy self so Tom seems nervous. Kendall, Shiv, and Roman enlist Connor’s help, who is preparing for his wedding to Willa (Justine Lupe), as they try and figure out how to outsmart Logan. There isn’t a lot shown that could lead us to any speculation about where season four is heading, which is exciting!
Why am I/you should be excited about Succession season four?
The trailer mentions that everyone is now on the chessboard and this is largely what I’m looking to see from Succession season four. I want to see the all-out war between Logan and his children and to see if they can figure out a way to outsmart him. I’m looking forward to a united front, particularly with Kendall again in the mix. I’m looking forward to seeing the fallout between Tom and Shiv. What he did is borderline unforgivable so I’m looking to see what consequences will be coming his way.
