Love Letter to DC
Do you love The Snyder-Verse? Do you love what has been going on with DC since Man of Steel? Then this film is a last hoorah for you. Meant to be a send-off/reboot of this huge franchise, this is your last chance to see most likely some of your favorites on the big screen. Ben Affleck’s Batman is having his swan song. There will probably be some other cameos and roles there for you to say goodbye to. Treat this one like a celebration and enjoy it.
“I Am Batman”
Who is your Batman? For an entire generation, Michael Keaton would be the only possible answer to this question. But now? That might be revived as we see Keaton put the cowl back on and soar in The Flash. This is probably the single biggest reason why many people want to check out this latest flick (not sure what that says about Flash). But seeing Keaton (an incredibly talented and versatile actor) rediscover this role is quite exciting.
Supergirl
Were you hoping for Henry Cavill to return? Unfortunately, that is not in the Superman cards for us all. BUT we do have a brand new Supergirl to get excited about. Sasha Calle has such a distinct look and energy in the trailers that it brings excitement. There is a ferocity and power in her presence that makes her seem like a fresh new take on the Kryptonian hero story.
A New Future
What can you accomplish with a multiverse story? In this case, you can blow up the whole DC landscape so that James Gunn can reconfigure. Sure, there were some exciting elements in the Snyder version of this DC Universe, but it has become a complete mess at this point. This is an exciting new prospect to dive into. Where will The Flash take us? Bring it on!
