Welcome to coming attractions! This series is where I’ll be analyzing a trailer for a TV show and let you know why I’m excited or nervous about the show! This will also allow you to get excited about the show and give you a chance to read up on the show or catch up on seasons you missed! TV shows are getting more and more trailers so thankfully getting sneak previews is becoming increasingly common for TV shows!
Our latest trailer is Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty season two!
What is Winning Time?
Winning Time is about the juggernaut of the Los Angeles Lakers during the 1980s in the National Basketball Association.
Where and when can I watch Winning Time?
Winning Time season one is currently available on Max (I know I’ve been gone a while from writing but I hate calling it Max instead of HBO Max) and season two is set to premiere on Sunday, August 6th.
What’d we see in the trailer?
Now that the Lakers won their first NBA championship under Dr. Jerry Buss (John C. Reiley), the pressure is on to repeat. Standing in their way is their top rival in the east, the Boston Celtics, who are led by college basketball river Larry Bird (Sean Patrick Small) and legendary coach Red Auerbach (Michael Chiklis). Magic Johnson (Quincy Isaiah) is becoming all the talk of Los Angeles as he and Bird start to collide in what would be one of the greatest rivalries in sports history.
Why I am//you should be excited about Winning Time?
The Bird/Magic rivalry starts to heat up this season as they are on a collision course with one another for NBA supremacy. Small is who I’m excited to watch as Larry Bird. I’m most excited to see how the series will handle Bird’s legendary trash-talking. I also am curious to see what’s going to happen with Magic Johnson this season. We have a glimmer of where this series is going after what happens in the pilot but I’ll be curious to see if this is where we see Magic Johnson struggle with issues off the court.
