The Wait!
When was the last time you got to hang out with Barney Ross and company? It has been about a decade! That is crazy. Ever since Expendables 3 underperformed in no small part due to getting fully leaked online, we have sat wondering if this action franchise was ready to die. But we were wrong! We have at least one more rodeo with the Expendables team as they take on a new mission with new allies and new enemies. The wait has been long enough and it just might be the right time to have some violences mixed with beloved action stars. We are sure hoping that it is an improvement on the last film and decided to fully focus on this team of beloved action stars.
A Fresh Turn
Who is the heart of The Expendables? Sylvester Stallone. He has always been the anchor to the series who carried it forward. He certainly has shared the screen with so many amazing talents, but it is Stallone who is the lead. Is that changing? It appears we might be getting Christmas early this year as Jason Statham takes front and center. Lee Christmas might be the actual favorite member of the team, so it is exciting to see him take the reins. There is a fresh turn of power in this franchise, and we are ready for it!
New Additions
Are we that excited to see Megan Fox and 50 Cent in Expend4bles? Fox is at least a fresh take with a legit member of the team being a woman and getting a serious role in the team. But there are some exciting additions for actions out there! Do you love Ong Bak? Tony Jaa is joining the franchise. Do you love The Raid? Iko Uwais joins too. We even get the likes of Andy Garcia who adds a veteran premise to the cast. We might be missing some big names from past films but there is a decent amount to be excited about.
Statham and Stallone
Who are the best parts of this franchise? It has always been and will be Stallone and Statham. They are still here and that is something to be excited about. Their friendship and chemistry is one of the most enjoyable things about these films. No matter the mission or the rest of the cast, Stallone and Statham will always deliver.
